10-year-old Adam is one of the few kids left behind after all the grown-ups have succumbed to hopelessness and abandoned the city, leaving it in a state of disarray. Adam tries to make sense of it all, along with his friend Ida. But soon she too is struck by the same symptom of disillusion: Her blood turns gray, her look is empty, and she sets off from the city. Determined to put a stop to this madness and bring Ida back to life, Adam leads the children in their struggle to make the city a place worth living in once again.

Tango Pohjan Tähden

Tango Pohjan Tähden, is a tango quartet from Minneapolis, MN. Using traditional Finnish tango repertoire from composers such as Toivo Kärki, Unto Mononen, and Olavi Virta, Tango Pohjan Tähden blends aspects of Finnish tango, traditional Argentine tango, and Tango Nuevo into a lush, original soundscape. Elina Ruppert, vocals; Sara Pajunen, violin; Bob Barnes, accordion; Matt Miller, bass.

In addition to the musical performance, Ralph Tuttila and Monica McIntosh will treat the audience to a few Finnish tangos on stage that will certainly put everyone in the mood for Sexy Shorts!

Tango Pohjan Tähden's performance is scheduled for 9.00-9.30 on Friday, November 19th between screenings of Nordic Shorts and Sexy Shorts. Admission is included with a Sexy Shorts ticket.

When a man comes home - En mand kommer hjem (DNK)

It’s summertime and the famous opera singer Karl Kristian Schmidt is on his way home to his native town to lend lustre to it with his performance. The town has come alive, and at the centre of all the madness and expectations we find Sebastian, who is engaged to the beautiful Claudia. However, when Maria shows up, they reunite in a ripe grain field, setting Sebastian’s whole life on a catastrophic course. At long last, the world famous opera singer arrives to the sound of the cheering masses and soon after he becomes acquainted with Sebastian’s break up with Claudia and love affair with Maria. During a grand gala dinner the skeletons come rattling out of the closet. A man has come home - and nothing is as it used to be!
